Your NVR is a black box. This one talks.

The Infoiles Security Suite is software, not a box. It runs on an ordinary Linux machine in your office, connects to the cameras you already have, records to your own disks, and tells you the truth about how much footage you actually still have.

The problem

A recorder that loses footage quietly is worse than one that fails loudly.

Every school we have opened up had the same three surprises: less history than anyone believed, a camera that stopped recording weeks ago, and no way to get a clip out that anyone would accept as evidence. None of that is visible from the front of an NVR.

What a hardware NVR does

Fills its disk, then silently overwrites the oldest footage. Shows a green light whether or not every camera is still writing. Hands you a clip with no way to prove it was not edited. And when it dies, it takes the recordings with it.

What this does instead

Tells you how far back your footage really goes, as a duration and a date. Warns you before adding a camera quietly shortens that. Exports a clip with a SHA-256 alongside it. And keeps running on the LAN with the internet, and us, completely absent.

Recording that costs almost nothing

Your camera's own video is copied straight to disk without being re-encoded, so one ordinary machine carries a whole school's cameras. Continuous, on a schedule, or on motion, per camera.

Live view in well under a second

A wall of 1, 4, 9 or 16 cameras with saved layouts, drag to rearrange, favourites and auto-sequence. Open one camera and it switches to the full-quality stream by itself.

A timeline you can actually use

Type the time you want and land on it. Zoom from five minutes to a week, step frame by frame, play at a quarter speed or sixteen times. Seek into a gap and it jumps to the nearest real footage instead of dead-ending.

Clips that stand up

Every exported clip carries its own SHA-256, so anyone can check it is the file you handed over. A stretch of timeline can be pinned so the retention sweep cannot delete it while a matter is open.

Resolution, codec, picture, clock and timezone, the text burned into the corner, motion sensitivity and privacy masks, all from one console. You never have to open a camera's own web page again.

It tells you why a camera will not connect

The diagnosis appears before the camera is saved, in a sentence, instead of a silent failure you discover a fortnight later when you need the footage.

Where the footage lives

Cameras in a school are a responsibility, not a feature.

So the design starts from who can see the children, and works outwards. These are properties of how it is built, not settings someone has to remember to switch on.

The recordings never leave your school

They are written to your disks, on your machine, in your building. When you watch a site remotely, the video is relayed to you on demand. Our server stores none of it.

Nothing at the school accepts a connection

The machine dials out to us. There is no port forward, no exposed recorder, and nothing on your network for anyone on the internet to find and try.

We cannot watch your cameras unless you let us

Access for Infoiles staff is off until your own administrator turns it on, it can be revoked the same way, and every single thing we look at while it is on is written into your school's own audit log.

One school can never reach another

Separation is enforced in the queries themselves, not by hiding buttons. A camera that is not yours is indistinguishable from one that does not exist.

A clip for the police, without an account

Share one clip or one live camera with a link that expires, can be revoked, and can do nothing else: no export, no second camera, no way further in.

Who can do what, down to the person

Roles you can edit, permissions you can grant or take away per person, a contractor's account that stops working on a date you set, and an audit trail throughout.

Where it is today

In service at two schools, sixty cameras at the larger one.

It is not a pilot on a bench. It is recording real corridors, on real hardware, at real schools, with staff using it daily. We are taking new sites now, and we would rather tell you what it does not do yet than find out together after installation.

What we are still finishing

  • Moving a camera from the browser: tours between preset positions work, but we have not yet driven a motorised camera on real hardware, so we do not sell that.
  • Sirens, gates and alarm inputs: written, not yet proven against real wiring.
  • Anything that recognises a face or a number plate. It exists, it is not licensed for commercial use, and we will not put it into a school until that is settled and the consent question is answered properly.
  • A phone app. Today it is any browser, including the one on your phone.
